Botox & Fillers

Botox^® has been used for years to create a more attractive facial appearance, and we now offer Xeomin^® as well. By relaxing facial muscles, we can help you appear younger, less stressed – and even less angry. While results vary, most of our clients appreciate improvement that lasts 3-4 months. Common areas to treat include:

• The “elevens” – relax the muscles of the glabella (muscles between the brows) that contribute to “perma-frown”
• The frontalis muscles can be relaxed to minimize the horizontal lines in your forehead
• The “crows feet” in the corners of the eyes. While some people call these “laugh lines,” you may not find them entertaining if they make you look years older than you are.

Dermal Fillers

We use the dermal fillers Juvéderm Ultra^®, Juvéderm Ultra Plus^®, and Voluma^® to create more volume in the face. Each product consists of injectable hyaluronic acid (we already have this in our skin) and the local anesthetic lidocaine. The products vary in viscosity or thickness. Dermal fillers produce temporary results, lasting between 6-18 months for most clients. 

• Juvéderm Ultra ^® is the most liquid of the products and is used to add volume to the lips.
• Juvéderm Ultra^® is used for softening the naso-labial folds and corners of the mouth.
• Voluma^® the most gel-like of the products, is used to enhance mid-face (cheek) volume. 

All of these products are commonly used to create a more youthful appearance.

But we’ve learned that emphasizing the upper cheeks with Voluma^® draws our attention upward to the eyes – so we often start there.

Facial Sculpting for Feminization or Masculinization

We have found that Botox^® and dermal fillers can move you closer to the gender presentation you desire. For example, a craggy forehead can be relaxed with Botox. Likewise, relaxing the strong masseter muscles in the jaw can minimize its squareness and make you look more feminine. We can masculinize with dermal fillers – but tell us your goals so we can help you most effectively.
